The Surin Islands National Park is known for pristine reefs, lush jungles and it’s remote location on the edge of the Andaman Sea.

There are five islands – all uninhabited except for the small Moken (Sea Gypsy) village.

They are located About 60km North West of Khao Lak and are usually accessed from Nam Kem Pier, just 20 minutes from Khao Lak. The boat ride itself takes about 1.5 hours.

The islands have the largest and most developed coral reefs in the Andaman Sea. There are a huge number of different species of fish and sharks and sea turtles are plentiful.

If the under water riches are not enough, The Surin Islands have a broad selection of animal life – including the Nicobar Pigeon and Mangrove Monitor Lizards.

14km to the east of the Surins is the world famous dive site Richelieu Rock, famous for seeing the world’s largest fish, the Whale Shark, most often sighted in March and April.

Trips to the Surins can be for a day, several nights in simple bungalows or tents or, particularly for divers, on a liveaboard.

Our Surin Snorkelling Day Trip Highlights

Mangrove Tour

The first part of the boat journey takes you through the mainland mangroves behind the island of Koh Kho Khao. Protected from waves this is not only the most comfortable speedboat route in our area – the landscape you will see is spectacular, nearly unpopulated and rarely visited. This part of the journey takes you also way back into Thailands history, so we will give you in depth information about this interesting area as we go along the way.

Snorkelling

The three snorkeling stops are the main attraction of this tour, so we do our best to choose the reefs with the best conditions on a daily basis. We also want to give you enough time for snorkeling, so every day is planned a bit differently according to the tides – we want to give you at least one snorkeling stop without a strict time limit.

The shallow reefs consist mainly of hard corals – you will find big clams, sea stars colorful reef fish, like the famous Nemo Clownfish. We regularly encounter – absolute harmless but beautiful – reef sharks, Barracudas, sea snakes, Octopuss asnd if you are lucky sea turtles.

Sustainable

By using E-85 fuel, a fuel largely made of corn and sugar cane Ethanol, our speedboats produce up to 80% less emissions than similar boats. Additionally, we really try to cut down on plastic, which is why we provide you with an aluminum bottle at the beginning of the trip, that you can easliy Refill aboard with fresh drinking water.
